Second Vivekananda Bridge (Kolkata)

Second Vivekananda Bridge Toll Company Private Limited (SVBTCPL) executed the project for the 880m six-laned Second Vivekananda Bridge across river Hoogly in Kolkata. The SPV was promoted by L&T (also the EPC contractor for the project) and PASGIC. The scope of this INR 6.47 billion project included the construction of a 6.1 km, integrated 6-lane bridge along with the approach road network over river Hoogly, 50 m downstream of the old Vivekananda Bridge. The project bridge connects NH2 – NH6, Durgapur Expressway on the west bank with NH34 – NH35, Belghoria Expressway and the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Airport on the east bank. The project was completed ahead of schedule and L&T exited from the consortium in October 2009.
